Job Description

Currently we are looking for a Senior Business Developer (Wind Power) in Oslo to be part of global team. As Senior Business Developer, you will be responsible for implementing Clients's wind power strategy in close collaboration with local development teams. This includes establishing organisation and processes as well as identifying and securing new project opportunities and developing these projects through to financial close and start of construction.

Main responsibilities 

  • Identify key markets and countries to be prioritised for wind project development
  • Develop understanding of emerging wind power markets, with specific focus on markets where Clients is already present
  • Identify and nurture relationships with local/regional developers, brokers, banks, contractors, wind turbine suppliers etc. to identify wind project opportunities  
  • Identify, screen, evaluate and acquire new business and project opportunities together with the local business development teams
  • Project assessment and due diligence, project specific financial models and investment memos 
  • Technical solutions assessment with technical teams 
  • Risk assessments related to the projects, including real estate risks, political risks, permitting and environmental risks, and financial risks and corresponding mitigation strategies  
  • Together with local development teams, negotiate with prospective partners and establish project development or acquisition agreements to take over projects
  • Identify key competence areas to develop across Clients’s development organisation to enable local development teams to take an increasingly leading and autonomous role in project origination, development and structuring
  •  Establish and implement such competency development plan
  • Permits, licenses and authorizations, power purchase agreements or other offtake arrangements
  • Recruitment of Business Development personnel to establish solid wind competence in Clients


  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Engineering, Law or other relevant fields
  • Master’s Degree in Finance/Commerce/Law/Engineering Degree with MBA (or other relevant commercial Masters Degree)
  • 7+ years relevant work experience: 4 years’ experience in project or business development in wind energy industry
  • Language: fluent both written and spoken in English
